CREATING A BETTER FUTURE

Here at Happy Tails, we are forever working on programs to help the community; from preventing unwanted litters to providing education in schools. Many of these programs are still in planning mode or in the pilot phase due to funding. With your support, we can make them all a reality.

Adoption Program

The heart of every rescue: getting unwanted or dumped animals and finding their forever family! We have a variety of cats, kittens, dogs, and puppies available for adoption. All animals come desexed, fully vetted, and ready to join your family.

Fostering Program

We do not have any facilities in which we hold our animals. Instead, we rely on our generous foster carers to provide animals with a safe and loving place to call home until they find their forever home.

Golden Tails Program

Our commitment to care for animals who are unable to be rehomed due to medical or behavioural issues.  These animals remain in care until their time has come to cross the rainbow bridge.

Last Litter Program

Members of the public who have a pregnant cat or dog can surrender the kittens or pups (plus the Mum temporarily) to Happy Tails so that we can do all their vetwork (including desexing) free of charge. We will then rehome the litter and return the mumma to her owners.

(Limited availability)

Safe Tails Program

Our Safe Tails Community program’s aim is to provide temporary and emergency housing for animals of individuals at risk or experiencing domestic violence and homelessness. Referrals accepted via community support agencies.

Partnership with DV Connect

Our Safe Tails program is a relatively new initiative with DV Connect to provide temporary and emergency housing for animals of individuals at risk or experiencing domestic violence in Queensland.

Education Tails

We will bring some friendly animals to schools, daycares, universities or workplace to educate the importance of desexing your pets and to adopt, not shop. This program is available by sending a PM to our facebook page.
