How she came to Happy Tails: On a rescue trip for a cat in central Qld, one of our founders met Mary and just knew we needed to save her. Mary had been found wandering alone 5kms outside of town in a horrible condition. She was skin and bone, covered in mud and her own faeces. No one came forward to claim her in the several weeks she had been there.

Why she is retired as a Golden Tail: Mary has early stages renal failure, chronic arthritis, dementia, incontinence, hearing and vision impairment and had reoccurring urinary tract infections.

Her Happy Tale: Beautiful Mary is a 13 year old cattle dog/bull arab mix who weighed 16 kilograms and now weighs over 20 kilograms. She is now living her life with her new favourite partner in crime, Morris. They enjoy snuggling, wandering the yard and romantic dinners sitting next to each other. (Read more about their love affair here)

How your donation helps: All of Mary’s vetwork is covered for life. This includes regular items such as health checks, vaccinations and medication; but also extra items such as blood tests and x-rays.

How her story ended: Mary crossed the rainbow bridge April 21st, 2018. Mum Lauren writes “A piece of my heart went to heaven yesterday. Miss Mary was spoilt with love, food and a home made beach for her last day. She drifted off to sleep surrounded by everyone who loved her. She has taught me so much about love and patience. She was my favourite hello and my hardest goodbye.  I bet it’s so nice up in heaven since you arrived Mary. Rest in paradise my angel 💕”

Thank you to all who supported Mary during her Happy Tale.
