Safe Tails Program
Help us provide a temporary home for the pets of those in need
Happy Tails Animal Rescue Inc. has proudly created a community program to provide temporary, emergency housing for animals of individuals at risk or experiencing domestic violence, homelessness or other needs in Queensland.
In an emergency, pet owners are often forced to surrender their pets or stay in unsafe environments due to lack of support options for their animals. Since launching in 2017, Happy Tails Animal Rescue has regularly received calls from people needing short-term assistance to care for pets in times of crisis.
The Safe Tails program provides a compassionate alternative to surrendering a pet in a crisis. We support families seeking safety by looking after their fur family while they look after themselves.
Applications to the Safe Tails program are by referral only from a community support agency, social worker or support worker. If you require assistance, please ask your community agency to provide a referral to our service.
