Dog Walking
From time to time we are unable to place dogs into a suitable foster home. These animals go on a mini vacation to our partner trainer in Park Ridge. Park Ridge training facility welcomes Happy Tails volunteers to shows these dogs some love.
Transport
This can be a short trip from the pound to the foster carer, a trip to the vet for their appointment or collecting animals from private surrender homes.
Events
Our fundraising events can only happen with volunteers. Roles on the day include set up, transport help, BBQing, selling raffle tickets/merchandise/chocolates, dog/cat babysitter, conversationalist and pack up.
Fundraising
This role involves behind the scenes organising of fundraising events and opportunities. If you have the ideas and connections, we would love to hear from you.
Photography
Photos play a key role in our animals getting adopted. Join our team of volunteer photographers who take amazing photos for adoption profiles and promotions.

FOSTERING
It’s impossible to talk about our volunteers without acknowledging our wonderful foster carers!
Foster carers are at the very heart of our organisation. We don’t have any kennels or holding facilities for our animals, so we rely entirely on our foster carers to continue saving lives.
Foster carers welcome rescued animals into their homes and care for them as if they were their own. They provide lots of love and, of course, a place to call home while the animal waits for their furever family.
Many people choose to become foster carers when they love animals, but can’t commit to looking after one long term. Others just like knowing that they are saving lives. Does this sound like you?
